An extensive extended journey circling the Land Down Under was terminated in the wake of the death of an elderly lady who was left behind by the vessel on a distant tropical isle.

The passenger had been trekking on the remote island with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the group for a break. The ship sailed away leaving her and went back after some time after the crew discovered the woman was unaccounted for.

An extensive hunt found her remains the following day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the incident, alongside police and the state coroner.
